Cookie Policy
The cookies and browser storage Auspex uses, what they do, and how you can control optional technologies.
Effective and last updated: August 8, 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how Auspex uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar browser technologies. These technologies can remember your choices, maintain sign-in state, cache data, protect the service, and support optional analytics.
Auspex uses essential storage and application caches. Google Analytics is optional and remains unloaded unless you select “Allow optional” in the consent banner. If you select “Reject optional,” Analytics is not initialized and no Analytics events are sent.
2. Essential technologies
Essential technologies are required for authentication, security, billing continuity, preferences, and core app operation. They cannot always be disabled through our banner because the requested service may not work without them.
- Firebase authentication storage: maintains secure sign-in state and provider credentials on your device.
- auspex_cookie_consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined optional technologies until you clear browser storage or reopen cookie settings.
- auspex_pending_checkout_plan: temporarily remembers the selected plan during sign-in and is stored for the browser session.
- Account and billing caches: temporarily store nickname and subscription state to make the interface responsive.
3. Preference and performance storage
Auspex may store recent searches, watchlist-related display data, factor weights, grade thresholds, theme, dashboard sort order, company-search lists, market-data caches, and refresh timestamps on your device. These items improve continuity and performance. They generally remain until replaced, cleared by the app, or removed through browser or device settings.
4. Optional analytics
With your consent, Auspex uses Google Analytics 4 through the Firebase Analytics SDK to understand page views and general engagement. We may receive the page path and title, referral source, browser and device information, approximate location derived by Google, and aggregated engagement information. We do not intentionally send your email, nickname, watchlist, search history, payment information, or Firebase account identifier to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish browser sessions and maintain session state. Google typically retains these cookies for up to two years, although the duration may refresh with use. Google may process Analytics data outside the EEA under its applicable data-protection terms and transfer safeguards.
We send page-view events for client-side route changes only after consent. You can withdraw consent at any time below. Withdrawal stops future collection; it does not invalidate processing performed while consent was active.
5. Managing your choice
You may accept or decline optional technologies in the banner. You can revisit the banner using the button below. You may also clear site data in your browser or device settings. Blocking essential storage may sign you out, reset preferences, or prevent parts of Auspex from working.
